Linda Shaw Wilson

In her youth, Linda trained in classical ballet under the esteemed ballerina Beverly Rowles, who encouraged her from a young age to pursue her passion for teaching. She furthered her studies in the USSR under Klara Malysheva and studied national character with Dominik Ivanov through the Bolshoi Ballet in both Moscow and Minsk. Linda danced professionally both nationally and internationally before returning home to establish the Linda Shaw Dance Centre. Many of her students have gone on to enjoy successful careers in classical ballet, contemporary dance companies, musical theatre, and cruise ship entertainment. Her passion for musical theatre led her to choreograph productions including The Sound of Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie, The King and I, Seussical, and many more. Linda has great joy to adjudicate the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod, an event that has produced countless successful performing arts professionals. To date, her proudest achievement is seeing many of her former students become accomplished teachers in their own right, continuing to share the joy of dance and performance with future generations.
