Maria is a zealous keyboard virtuoso and soprano with a catching passion for music. Described by the press as a “born performer” with an “irrepressible style”, Maria has performed in world class venues, often for honourable guests and dignitaries. She has been praised for “virtuoso”, “seemingly-effortless performances”, “amazing talent”, and has performed “some of the world’s most stunning repertoire”. Her compositions have also received accolades. Often “dramatic”, “neo-classical”, or post-Romantic, they smartly combine “contemporary (elements) with a Romantic texture.”
Maria has accumulated a vast array of broadcasts, media interviews, awards, and competition wins, from a young age. Her artistic output includes multiple solo and chamber music CD’s, recordings, major performance projects and several years of musical directorship positions in Perth, Krakow, and Sydney. She is widely involved in piano and organ performance practice, specialising in the phenomenon of the ‘concert virtuoso’ and the implementation of lost performing practices.
A passionate educator and performance practice specialist, Maria has guest lectured, adjudicated, given lecture-recitals and papers at renowned music institutions in the UK, Italy, and Australia. Originally from Perth, she taught advanced piano at music schools for gifted children in Poland and teaches piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Open Academy since 2014. She also runs a Sydney based studio offering virtuoso piano tuition and Masterclasses, alongside teaching at leading K-12 schools.
Maria’s musical pedigree reflects musical training with many distinguished and world renowned concert artists/professors. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in piano performance (with additional programs in piano pedagogy as well as pipe organ and voice performance) from the K. Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice, Poland, and a Master of Music Studies degree in performance (pipe organ) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
